Hydrographic Surveyor (Cat B)
We have a vacancy
for a Hydrographic Surveyor
Primarily concentrating on coastal survey and dredging
work, he will be responsible for the correct acquisition and processing of all
positioning data (vessel & sensors) and bathymetric data acquired during
the survey. The successful candidate will be required to perform the duties of
either an "Online Navigator" or a "Data Processor". He
shall have experience with the principles of surveying offshore especially in
the fields of positioning and multi-beam echo sounding. The successful
candidate will be responsible for acquisition and logging of positional data
and for calibration of survey sensors.
In order to undertake the main duties, you will
require a thorough knowledge of hydrographic survey techniques and equipment
applicable to Ports and be a good communicator with the ability to work as part
of a team. You must have experience in the use of software used in hydrographic
data acquisition and processing, e.g. DGPS, DTM, and CAD.
The
successful candidates will have a proven track record within the survey
industry with a minimum of three years operational experience. They must have
an ability to work un-supervised, Ability
to direct junior members of staff, Fluent English, show initiative in decision making, and
adopt a flexible and positive approach to irregular working hours, location and
conditions. Degree qualified and with an attention to detail, tasks must be
prepared and undertaken to a high technical standard.
Hold Cat B Certificate.
The successful
